After we left Nairobi at the beginning of September, we traveled to Mafinga, Tanzania, by road over a 3-day period. We decided to make full use of our trip by stopping in Moshi to do some mini-sightseeing and in Morogoro to visit friends (and get some very delicious home-cooked food...thanks Sarah)! We took turns to drive, alternating on a daily basis, and we were lucky to get a glimpse of the peak of the great Mt. Kilimanjaro!
Shortly after arrival, we moved into our new house and went straight into a work routine...yes, life must go on! We're now both officially employed in the forestry industry and our work stations are about 20 meters apart. We are REALLY trying to keep our private life separate from our professional ones...yeah right! We travel to and from home together on our bikes (including for our lunch break) and 'try' to maintain a professional attitude at work!
At home...
...we've finally settled/unpacked into our house and are enjoying it. Here are a couple of pictures to give you an idea of how some things are...
Top Left: Our kitchen; with the main corridor to the bedrooms on the left Top Right: Nyamu on our front porch Bottom: The beautiful view from our front porch, over the front gate |
Other highlights...we celebrated Karen's birthday in October (with a brilliantly executed birthday surprise from Nyamu) and have been experimenting in the kitchen (where our love was born)! Again, pictorial evidence...
More later...
